On December 3rd the Ironman 70.3 Cartagena commenced on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Full of centuries of old colonial stonewalls and heritage, Cartagena brings a fun and exciting race to their city.
It was just that too with a thrilling race between the top 3 finishers of the men’s pro division. TJ Tollakson pulled into the lead with an impressive bike time and went out hard on the run. TJ had a 3-minute advantage on the next racer at the mid point of the run, but Kevin Collington made a surge at the 14 km mark to take the lead. In the end, TJ took a podium finish of 3rd place with a 24:52 swim, 2:03:35 bike, and a 1:22:58 run for a overall time of 3:55:14.
