No, this isn’t a get-fit quick scheme – I’m going to go through how you can change your life in 30 days, or at least be on your way to making great changes! I want to challenge you to a 30-day test, which will help you establish new habits that lead top accomplishing goals. This test is modified from Earl Nightingale’s “Strangest Secret,” a book that completely changed my life. I encourage you to check out his writings and recordings.
Each of us has a big goal or dream in mind. We also have a corresponding fear that can stall our efforts. Take a moment and think about your main goal in life. What do you wish to achieve more than anything?
Write down your goal on a small piece of paper, or type it in as a reminder on your phone. It just needs to be in a place where you can see it daily. Below it, also write or type the words (or something similar): “Ask, and it will be yours; seek, and you will find it; knock, and the door will open for you.”
For the next 30 days, you’ll focus completely on your goal. As soon as a negative thought or fear pops up, look at what you have written for yourself. Replace the fear with your goal. It’s important to be aware of your thoughts, and squash doubt or fear as soon as it pops up. This process creates a new way of thinking and new habits. If you give energy and focus to something, it will grow – good or bad. Why not focus on what you want to achieve, rather than what holds you back? The mind is a muscle, and just like any other muscle, it requires specific training and repetitions!
In the fitness industry, we talk about shaping our bodies, but sometimes forget that our minds have to be in shape first! In order to achieve something, we must visualize it. Only then, can we materialize it. Try this 30-day test and then try it again!
