2017 Ironman 70.3 Austin Results

Sunday, October 29^th the Ironman 70.3 Austin commenced.  The race began with a 1.2 mile loop around Decker Lake, followed by a 56-mile loop through the rolling Texas farmlands and finishing with a 3-loop half marathon that ended at the Luedecke Arena.  Starting in the swim portion it was a tight race, moving into the bike TJ Tollakson pulled to the front of the pack with a split of 2:11:51, giving him about a 2 minute lead over 2^nd place.  Within the first three miles of the half marathon Franz Loeschke pulled into the lead and held it until the finish line. 

In the end, TJ placed 4^th overall with a finish of 3:57:07.  TJ will compete next at the Ironman Mar del Plata in Argentina on December 3^rd.  We wish him the best in his training prep leading up to the event.
