On Sunday the Ironman 70.3 Steelhead event commenced at Benton Harbor, Michigan. The young 29-year-old athlete Eric Lagerstrom (USA) had a solid day claiming the win by a margin of +3:38 on Starykowicz and +4:14 on Amorelli. Pro female Sarah Haskins (USA) also had a flawless day closing the winning gap by just +1:27 over Jackie Hering.
Team BetaTOR athlete TJ Tollakson, just recovering from an injury, took the water and pavement with much tenacity at the Ironman Steelhead event! This day marked not only his 38th birthday, but also celebrated his first Olympic distance triathlon race 17 years ago. TJ finished the day with a 00:28:26 swim, 02:08:14 bike, and 1:21:55 run to place him in 5th overall.
